Theodore is inspired by one of the earliest plush teddy bears, a classic from early 1900s Brooklyn. He emerged during the rise of the home sewing movement, before teddy bears had their iconic name.
Legend has it that his story begins when President Roosevelt refused to harm a captured bear on a hunting trip, an act of compassion that inspired a new kind of toy. Soon after, a bear was stitched in his honour and given the name Teddy’s Bear.
Theodore celebrates craftsmanship, compassion, and the moment a toy became a timeless icon.
