Great Concept, Needs Refinement
I purchased the SmartBridge, SmartPebble, and several SmartSleepers and SmartBlankets for my baby. I really love the idea behind this product — it’s clear a lot of thought went into creating a system that gives peace of mind. However, the execution could use improvement. SmartSleepers: These are warm and comfortable, and my baby sleeps well in them. That said, the 1.0 TOG and 2.5 TOG versions feel significantly thicker than other brands like Love to Dream. While this hasn’t caused a problem, it’s something to be aware of. SmartBlankets: I haven’t used these yet, but they seem warm and attach to the front of the SmartSleeper with Velcro. I do have some safety concerns about whether they could come off if my baby thrashes around, and whether they add warmth for tummy sleepers. These are speculative concerns, not based on direct experience — just something I’m mindful of. SmartBridge & SmartPebble: The core idea is excellent — seeing my baby’s temperature and movement gives me peace of mind. However, there are some issues: The system is iOS only. I wasn’t aware of this when I purchased, and had to buy an iPad just to use it. The SmartBridge must be within 10 meters of the SmartPebble. Otherwise, it disconnects. The Pebble sometimes disconnects intermittently, especially when feeding or moving around the room. When breastfeeding, I often get alerts that my baby is "too hot," but when I check her, she feels fine — I suspect my body heat is affecting the Pebble. The app has technical issues: pressing “STOP” causes it to crash, so I have to pause monitoring instead. Despite these problems, I’m continuing to use the system. The concept is strong, and it gives me reassurance. I just hope future updates will improve stability and usability. It would also mean a lot if their customer service improved — I reached out weeks ago to ask about Android compatibility and never received a reply. This system has real potential. I’m sharing this to help other parents be informed — I wish I’d known some of these things beforehand.
