Can’t even get it to connect to WiFi

    by

Getting one star due to the fact that I’ve been trying to connect this sock to WiFi for hours now and your owlet support is not helpful at all. Your WiFi connect for the dream sock sucks and has sent me spiraling. I just want to use this sock and can’t even do so because of the WiFi. Do better.

    Love it

    by

I bought this for my second after having one for my first. I absolutely love it, however it does have some connection issues. it will randomly say it's been disconnected when my baby isn't even moving. she could be 2 ft from it and it will alarm randomly. it's not very common. Other then that I love it and I will keep using it.

    Overall good product

    by

Overall, we love the owlet sock. It tracks oxygen and heart rate accurately and gives us peace of mind! The only thing I do not like with the sock is the ability to change the parameters. I understand we can get a physician’s order to do so, but if we can’t, why does the low oxygen alert not go off until baby is below 80%?? It should go off if baby gets below 89%! Again, overall the product is amazing, but I wish they would make this feature accessible to all parents.

LOVE the product. Hate the base station lights.

    by

As a highly anxious mom, this product brings so much peace of mind. When my son started rolling in his sleep, I was so worried about him sleeping on his stomach, but knowing that an alert would go off if he was in trouble gave me the ability to get a little sleep. I would 100% recommend this product to anyone looking for a little extra comfort while your child sleeps. That said, the light on the base station bothers me to an absolute extreme amount. While the sock is charging, the light swirls. While the sock is on your child, the light is steady. If you have a child that is sensitive to light in their room, both the swirling light and the steady light are bright enough to bother your child. If you choose to keep the base station in a separate room to aoid the light, the connection might not be strong enough between station and sock, which can set off false alarms. For people who choose to use this as a kind of night light or who have a set up where the light is helpful or doesn't bother their child, I'm sure the light is a positive. I do wish there was a way to disable the light for those of us who need to have the base station darken at least when the sock is being worn. That way, parents in both scenarios (who want the light and who don't) can be even more satisfied with this product. By no means would I avoid this product due to the light, I just wish there were options and hope that future iterations of this wonderful product do include those options.

    Not worth the hype

    by

Nice for peace of mind but oh my goodness are there a lot of false alarms. We can't even take our baby into the nursery from the bedroom to change her without an alarm going off. Sure we could pause the alarm for a little but its hard to remember at 3am with a screaming baby and 1 hour of sleep. The movement alarm needs to have the option to turn it off. My partner is awaken at least once a night because of "disconnection from base alarm" even though im breastfeeding the baby 30 feet from the base. Would not recommend unless you love incessant alarms.

if you leave the room it beeps loud no way of turning that down. if the baby is moving too much it beeps loud no way of turning that down. when you turn off base station again beeps loud and for absolutely no reason. when you turn it on surprise surprise the loudest beeps and for what so the whole house can hear that it’s turning on and off the engineers and creators really sat in a room and said “I want to make a monitoring sock BUT I want it to be as inconvenient as possible let’s start brain storming people what can we do” and I imagine a bunch of hands going up saying “oh when you try to leave the room we can make it beep at 140 decibels” or “when you power on and off we’ll play a 3 minute symphony so that you’re aware of what you’re doing” “no wait I got it let’s make the beep go on the machine AND on their phone when they check their app that’ll aggravate them for sure!!” I mean if that was the goal then yall have done great splendid even I applaud you I applaud you for going so far out of your way to truly aggravate parents that are already dealing w sleep deprivation congratulations owlet you did it!! pat yourself on the back you truly deserve it and I really mean that

Highly Recommend for cold and flu season

    by

My 4 and a half month old currently has a cold and last night it alerted us at 1am that her oxygen was at 80%. We had just cleared her nose and gotten her to sleep a couple hours prior. We woke her and cleared her nose again but I can’t even think about what could’ve happened had it not alerted us. I highly recommend this to any parent!

    Great but definitely not perfect.

    by

We have the dream sock and the cam 2, both a great. The camera is...a camera. Its pretty accurate in the temp and humidity readings and the quality is fair. The sock we have mainly for peace of mind and less to track baby's sleep. However I dont know if its the products that are lacking or the app. Maybe both. The app constantly says "baby is awake" even when its clear shes fast asleep. It takes entirely too long upon opening the app for both the camera and any readings to load. Sometimes I have to close out of the app after minutes of waiting for it to load before anything even shows up. Both on and off wifi. I have trouble sleeping (unrelated to baby) so im up often in the night and ill check the app just because and it says shes awake every time. Check on baby, fast asleep. Im good about keeping the sock clean so im not sure where the issue is.

    Don’t buy this

    by

This sock is not good. I do not recommend. It’s currently 9PM and my baby was asleep and the base station decided to not connect with the sock anymore and ring waking my baby up. I am currently in hour in trying to probably solve why the sensor will no longer connect to the base. Do not buy this.

Perfect if your house has no walls!

    by

Does your baby stay perfectly still? Does your house have no walls? Do you get too much sleep? If the answer to these three questions is “yes”, you’ll love the Owlet Dream Sock. There are some pros: (1) Owlet makes sure you never miss a moment. If your baby enjoys moving, the Owlet Dream Sock will “have trouble getting readings” and will helpfully beep extremely loudly so that you can observe the amazing phenomenon of your little bundle of joy fussing in the bassinet. (2) Owlet makes sure you know just how helpful your spouse is. If your house has walls (mine does!) and your spouse takes the baby in the next room so you aren’t disturbed by the crying, the Dream Sock will experience a “connection issue” and beep extremely loudly to inform you of your spouse’s good deed. Unfortunately, these amazing features can’t be disabled. You’ll just have to deal with connection issues and difficulties getting readings that you can’t do anything about, even if you’d rather just get some sleep instead of fumbling around to turn the thing off for twenty minutes until the issue resolves itself. Other than that it’s great.

    Disappointing downgrade

    by

I am a former Smart Sock 2 owner and upgraded to the Dream sock for my baby born this past August, as the Smart Sock 2 was no longer being supported. Either I got a lemon, or the dream sock is truly a downgrade. Daily, if not multiple times a day, we will get notifications of the sock being disconnected from the base, with the base being no farther than 15 feet away with no obstructions. When it finally reconnects, the Bluetooth signal is “good,” so this isn’t a matter of it being far away. I am also very well versed in positioning the sock on my baby, so that’s not the issue either. These shrill notifications are incredibly disruptive. The app is painfully slow and often takes a good 15-20 seconds to connect to the base station so I can silence the alarm, if the base isn’t within an arm’s reach for me to do so manually. With the Smart Sock 2, I think I only ever had 4 disconnected alarms throughout my baby’s first year. Overall I’m just disappointed in the disruptive connection issues. When the sock is working, it seems to detect everything appropriately. We have only had one false red alarm during the first week of use.
